Dr. Clark in surgery.
To the right is a radiograph of bone plating done by Dr. Clark.

This image shows an agility dog that had TPLO surgeries for ruptured cranial (anterior) cruciate ligament (ACL). The bone plate and bone screws are the bright white objects. Surgeries like this one require special monitoring, pain management, and post-operative care.

The health care team at SNVH helped this guy get back to agility trials and winning fast.

Specialty Surgical Services

In addition to the extensive surgical procedures that our full time veterinarians perform, Dr. Geoff Clark, DVM, DACVS (board certified specialist in surgery), of Veterinary Surgery of New England, offers specialty surgeries for our patients at SNVH.

Some of the specialty surgeries that Dr. Clark performs are:
  • Traumatic and sports injuries, such as fractures requiring IM pinning, bone plating, or bone grafting.
  • Orthopedic surgeries, such as cruciate ligament surgeries (TPLO, TTA, etc.), correction of luxating patellas (abnormal knee cap), and TPO surgery for hip dysplasia.
  • Soft tissue surgeries, such as tumor/cancer removal and correction of congenital defects like laser correction of breathing obstruction for elongated soft palate.
  • Open-chest procedures. SNVH is one of very few practices with a ventilator to improve patient safety during open chest procedures.
