    • Why we are different

A few of the many ways we are different

YOU! You are the number one reason we are different! You, like us, expect a higher standard of care. So besides being AAHA accredited, having an ABVP specialist, and being Gold level Certified Cat Friendly, below are some other ways you know that we provide your pets with a higher standard of care.

Did You Know?

There is no standard of care for veterinary anesthesia
like there is for human anesthesia.

  • Many vet practices re-use disposable endotracheal tubes (the "breathing tube" that goes into your pet's windpipe) to reduce costs.
  • Not only are re-used tubes no longer sterile, reuse risks failure of the seal, which could allow fluid to enter your pet's lungs during the procedure.
  • At SNVH, your pet will always get a new, sterile endotracheal tube. Click here for more information about other breathing tube issues.
The medical team at Stratham-Newfields Veterinary Hospital is committed to client education and patient safety.
What questions should I ask prior to anesthesia?

SNVH is equipped with state-of-the-art surgical facilities
to provide your pet with the safety of a human-grade operating environment.

Stratham-Newfields Veterinary Hospital has two separate surgery rooms to decrease the risk of infection, whereas
most veterinary hospitals have multiple tables in one room which puts your pet at greater risk for post-surgical infections.

Surgery rooms have human-hospital grade HEPA filtration which performs a complete air exchange every four minutes to reduce risk of surgical infections and increase safety. Additionally, the filtration system maintains a positive pressure causing the air to always flow out of the surgery room when the door is opened, making it nearly impossible for contaminants to enter the surgical field.

Our facilities would be meaningless without our dedicated staff of
veterinary medical professionals. Good job, team!

At Stratham-Newfields Veterinary Hospital, we require all our veterinary nurses to be
Credentialed Veterinary Technicians
&
In response to the lack of licensure requirements for veterinary technicians,
Stratham-Newfields Veterinary Hospital spearheaded the effort to
require licensure of all veterinary technicians in New Hampshire.
